Confirmed: Two defenders of Nigerian descent sign new contracts with Norwich City
Published: July 10, 2025
Through the official website, Championship outfit Norwich City have announced that two talented defenders of Nigerian descent have signed new contracts with the Canaries.
Theo Adelusi has signed a new three-year deal, keeping him at Carrow Road until 2028, while Oser Okpiabhele has signed his first professional contract at Norwich City, valid until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
One year after making the switch from Tottenham Hotspur, Adelusi has extended his stay with the Canaries.
Last season, the 18-year-old centre-back featured in the Premier League 2, U18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup and Premier League Cup, as he moved between the U18 and U21 squads.
Adelusi has been recognised for his leadership qualities, having worn the captain's armband in several U18 matches last season.
Aged 18, he is eager to return to action after spending several months on the sidelines during the second half of last season.
Oser Okpiabhele appeared in 21 matches in the U18 Premier League over the course of the 2024-2025 campaign and made his FA Youth Cup debut in a 4-3 win over Brentford in December 2024.
The 17-year-old describes himself as a ball-playing centre-back who enjoys initiating attacks from the back, while also relishing the defensive side of the game, particularly one-v-one duels.
