Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Vitor Pereira has named Wesley Okoduwa in his 28-man squad for the club's pre-season training camp in Portugal as preparations intensify ahead of the new Premier League season.

Okoduwa, the son of former Nigeria international striker Emmanuel Okoduwa, is one of the promising young talents in the Wolves setup.

Born in New York, the 17-year-old right-back represents England at youth level but remains eligible to play for both Nigeria and the United States.

For the second consecutive summer, Wolves have fended off interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea to tie down Okoduwa, with the teenager recently signing his first professional contract.

The highly rated defender was among the players who arrived in the south of Portugal on Thursday evening and trained with the squad the following day.

He will be hoping to impress Pereira and earn minutes in the two behind-closed-doors friendlies scheduled during the camp in the Algarve.

Okoduwa has previously been involved with the Wolves first team, receiving six call-ups to the matchday squad in the Premier League.

However, he is still awaiting his senior debut, having been named an unused substitute in games against Newcastle United, Arsenal, Bournemouth, Luton Town, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest.

Internationally, he made his England U18 debut in a friendly against Morocco on May 25, 2025.
