Report: Three-time African champions Raja interested in acquiring Super Eagles GK Nwabali
Published: July 14, 2025
Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca have set their sights on acquiring Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali from South African club Chippa United, as the 29-year-old continues to attract attention following his stellar performances.
According to Africa Foot, the Botola Pro League side are in talks with Chippa United over the potential transfer for the Nigerian international.
Nwabali rose to prominence during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where his standout displays helped Nigeria secure a second-place finish.
His crucial saves and composure under pressure earned him widespread acclaim, nearly clinching the Golden Glove award.
His leadership and reliability have made him a prime target for Raja Casablanca, a club eager to bolster their squad after a disappointing league campaign
Raja Casablanca, one of Morocco’s most decorated clubs with three CAF Champions League titles and 13 Botola Pro League crowns, aims to reclaim continental glory.
The club sees Nwabali as a key addition to achieve that ambition.
While Nwabali has not publicly expressed a desire to join Raja, sources indicate the club is serious about sealing the deal swiftly, with personal terms and signing fees unlikely to pose issues.
With two years left on his Chippa contract, Nwabali’s next steps will be closely watched as the transfer window unfolds.
