Super Lig's costliest signing ever: Osimhen completes Galatasaray move, to earn ₦37b per season
Published: July 31, 2025
With a statement on the official website, Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray have announced the signing of Victor Osimhen.
By signing a four-year contract with Galatasaray, the former African Footballer of the Year has ended his five-year stint with Napoli, having joined the Italian club from Lille in 2020.
The Turkish giants confirmed the deal on Thursday evening, unveiling the 26-year-old in club colours, with Osimhen visibly proud and delighted to join the Istanbul outfit.
The move sees €75 million paid to Napoli, with the Serie A champions also retaining a 10 percent sell-on clause as part of the agreement.
The transfer not only smashes Galatasaray's previous record but also breaks the all-time fee for a move within the Turkish Süper Lig, which had previously stood at €25 million.
Osimhen now stands as both Galatasaray's and the Süper Lig's most expensive signing in history
The Nigeria international is set to earn a staggering €21 million per season at Galatasaray, a figure that translates to approximately ₦37 billion in Nigerian currency.
His annual earnings are structured to include a guaranteed net salary of €15 million, a net loyalty bonus of €1 million, and an additional €5 million in image rights fees.
Osimhen returns to Istanbul after a successful loan spell in the 2024-2025 season, during which he scored 37 goals and provided 8 assists in 41 matches.
His performances helped Galatasaray win the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
