'He loves and respects Chelsea’ – Fabrizio Romano explains why George wants to leave

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided insight into why Tyrique George is considering a move away from Chelsea this summer.

After an impressive campaign, George is reportedly open to leaving Stamford Bridge, with interest coming from clubs in the Premier League, Serie A, and the Bundesliga.

Despite the growing interest, Romano noted that Chelsea remain keen to keep hold of the talented youngster.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed that George is considering a move in hopes of continuing his development and improving his game.

"There's a strong possibility to see Tyrique George leave Chelsea on a permanent transfer this summer," Romano stated.

"Chelsea will love to keep the player and keep control but the player wants to develop and play."

Romano explained that the young forward is weighing up a move due to the heavy competition in Chelsea’s attack, which could limit his game time and hinder his development.

"He loves and respects Chelsea but he feels now at Chelsea there would be many offensive players and it would be very difficult for a player like him to find game time."

Romano added that while there is interest from Premier League, Serie A, and Bundesliga clubs, it is the German clubs showing the most concrete intent.

"I can tell you that Premier League clubs and Italian clubs have called in recent days to ask about the situation of the player but from Germany the interest is the most concrete," he revealed.

"My understanding is that there is a possibility of seeing Tyrique George ending in the Bundesliga before the end of the summer transfer window.”

Despite interest from Borussia Mönchengladbach, Romano believes RB Leipzig are the frontrunners to land George, with the club already in ongoing talks with Chelsea over the Xavi Simons deal.

"There were some calls from Borussia Monchengladbach but also keep an eye on RB Leipzig.”

"Because Leipzig are in direct contact with Chelsea. The two clubs as I am telling you are in direct contact on a daily basis discussing the Xavi Simon deal.”

With the transfer window set to close at the end of August, George’s departure could help Chelsea free up space in the squad to pursue additional targets this summer.
