Transfer-linked Nigerians report for pre-season training with world champions Chelsea
Published: August 05, 2025
Nigerian duo Tosin Adarabioyo and Tyrique George have returned to Chelsea for pre-season training despite ongoing speculation surrounding their futures, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Following their triumph at the Fifa Club World Cup last month, Chelsea players resumed preparations for the upcoming campaign on Monday at the club's Cobham training base.
Tosin and George were pictured training with the Chelsea squad at the Training Ground in Cobham on Monday.
Promising attacker George is said to be attracting interest from Bundesliga outfits Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig.
Reports suggest the teenager is pushing for a move away from Stamford Bridge, citing concerns over limited playing opportunities in light of recent arrivals including Joao Pedro, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Liam Delap and Brazilian starlet Estêvão.
Meanwhile, Tosin, who joined the Blues last summer, is in the plans of manager Enzo Maresca.
The central defender is expected to play a key role in the upcoming season, though London rivals West Ham United and Crystal Palace are reportedly monitoring his situation.
Another player of Nigerian descent, Carney Chukwuemeka, was notably absent from Monday's training images shared on Chelsea's official website.
France youth international of Nigerian descent, Lesley Ugochukwu, did not participate in the training session as he is on the verge of completing a move to Premier League newcomers Burnley.
Chelsea will face Victor Boniface's Bayer Leverkusen and Samuel Chukwueze's AC Milan in pre-season friendlies, before kicking off their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace.
