Chelsea CB Tosin ranked third highest-rated No. 4 in PL last season, behind Van Dijk and Cook

Chelsea central defender Tosin Adarabioyo has been named among the top-rated Premier League players wearing the No. 4 shirt in the 2024/25 season with over 20 appearances.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Blues on a free transfer, ranked third on the list, trailing only Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk and Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook.

According to football statistics website WhoScored, Tosin earned a rating of 6.74 for his role in helping Chelsea secure a fourth-place finish and a spot in the UEFA Champions League.

Van Dijk topped the rankings with 7.07, while English midfielder Lewis Cook claimed second with 6.78.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Matthijs de Ligt ranked fourth with a rating of 6.69, while Tottenham defender Sepp van den Berg rounded out the top five with 6.68.

After arriving at Stamford Bridge, Tosin enjoyed a decent debut season, making an impact at both ends of the pitch.

Despite not being a regular starter, he registered one goal and one assist in 22 league appearances, highlighting his ability to contribute offensively as well as defensively.

With just four days until the new Premier League season kicks off, the Manchester City academy graduate will be aiming to build on his strong debut year in west London and push for a more prominent role in Chelsea’s back line.
