Inter Milan's Plan B: Chelsea forward identified as alternative to Lookman
Published: August 13, 2025
Inter Milan have reportedly lined up Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku as a potential alternative to Ademola Lookman, amid stalled negotiations with Atalanta over the Nigerian international, according to transfer expert Florian Plettenberg,
Lookman, who has excelled at Atalanta since arriving in the summer of 2022, has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri.
Since joining the club, the Nigerian international has recorded 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances across all competitions.
Despite agreeing terms with the player, Inter Milan and Atalanta have been unable to finalise a deal for the Nigerian international.
In an effort to secure a transfer, the 27-year-old has submitted a request to leave, accusing the club of breaking their promise.
However, the club maintains it never agreed to sanction a move to an Italian club.
Inter are now considering Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku as an alternative to the Super Eagles striker.
However, the Italians face competition for the Frenchman, who is also on the radar of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.
Despite exploring other options, Inter remain focused on securing Lookman’s signature and will only turn to Nkunku if negotiations with Atalanta collapse.
