Alvarez imminent move to Fenerbahce: Super Eagles star Onyedika on West Ham radar again
Published: August 22, 2025
West Ham United have reignited their interest in Nigeria international Raphael Onyedika, with Edson Álvarez poised to join Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.
At Thursday's pre-match press conference ahead of West Ham’s Premier League clash with Chelsea, manager Graham Potter said nothing has been finalised regarding Álvarez's future but stressed that players must consider their game time alongside what is best for both themselves and the club.
Onyedika has established himself as a key figure in Club Brugge’s midfield, consistently delivering impressive performances since his move from FC Midtjylland in 2022.
The 24-year-old has featured 149 times across all competitions for the Belgian side, contributing six goals and four assists.
According to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, the Hammers have renewed their pursuit of the Super Eagles midfielder as they look to strengthen their squad.
Onyedika is open to a switch to the Premier League, viewing it as a chance to showcase his quality on one of Europe’s biggest stages.
With just 10 days remaining before the summer transfer window closes, West Ham are keen to advance talks.
Club Brugge have placed a €20 million valuation on Raphael Onyedika, with former club FC Midtjylland entitled to 20 percent of any profit exceeding €9.5 million from his potential sale.
The Hammers are monitoring the situation closely and remain hopeful of negotiating a deal that would see Onyedika complete a move to the London Stadium.
