Nigeria earned a 2–1 victory over Lesotho on Friday evening, a result that keeps the Super Eagles firmly in contention for qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Allnigeriasoccer.com presents the player ratings for the Super Eagles following their hard-fought win.

The Starters

Goalkeeper

Stanley Nwabali (3/10): The Chippa United shot-stopper will be disappointed with the costly error that gifted Lesotho a late consolation goal.

Defenders

William Troost-Ekong (6.5/10): The captain lacked pace but showed composure to open the scoring from the penalty spot.

Calvin Bassey (7/10): The Fulham defender was solid at the back, combining well with Troost-Ekong to keep Lesotho's attacks at bay.

Benjamin Fredrick (8/10): The Brentford loanee showcased his versatility by playing comfortably on the right side of the defence.

Bruno Onyemaechi (5.5/10): The left-back failed to make a strong impression, with poor final balls and limited attacking contribution.

Midfielders and forwards

Wilfred Ndidi (6/10): The Besiktas star could have done better with his attempted clearance after Nwabali's spill led to Lesotho’s late goal. He was also unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty after being brought down inside the box.

Alex Iwobi (7/10): The Fulham playmaker dictated the tempo with composure and vision, linking midfield and attack seamlessly.

Ademola Lookman (6/10): The Atalanta winger had a subdued outing, failing to reach his usual attacking heights and receiving a yellow card for dissent.

Moses Simon (5/10): The winger struggled in the first half but improved after the break, showing more intent and better decision-making in the final third.

Tolu Arokodare (4/10): The Wolverhampton Wanderers striker endured a frustrating outing, failing to make his chances count before being replaced.

Victor Osimhen (7.5/10): The Galatasaray forward was lively throughout, working tirelessly and providing the assist for Adams’ decisive goal.

The Substitutes

Akor Adams (8/10): The Sevilla striker made an immediate impact, scoring the winner with a composed finish on his senior debut.

Samuel Chukwueze (4/10): The AC Milan winger struggled to influence proceedings after coming on in the second half.

Semi Ajayi: Not enough time to make an impact.

Zaidu Sanusi: Not enough time to make an impact.
