Striker eligible for Nigeria, Ghana, Lebanon and England makes full debut for Arsenal
Published: October 29, 2025
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta included two teenagers of Nigerian descent in his starting lineup for Wednesday night's Carabao Cup clash against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Joining Ethan Nwaneri in the starting eleven is quad-national striker Andre Harriman-Annous, a product of Arsenal's Hale End Academy.
Born in London, Harriman-Annous represents England at U18 level but is also eligible to play for Nigeria through his mother, as well as Ghana and Lebanon through his father.
Fifty-nine days after being named on the bench for the Premier League encounter against Liverpool at Anfield, the 17-year-old has now been handed a starting berth against the Seagulls.
Harriman-Annous trained with Arsenal’s first team during pre-season and made his unofficial debut in a friendly against Newcastle United in Singapore last July.
He enjoyed a breakout 2024-2025 campaign, scoring on his full debuts across five competitions, including the UEFA Youth League, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup, EFL Trophy and U18 Premier League Cup.
Continuing his fine form, the promising forward netted three goals for Arsenal’s development squad last month — performances that earned him a nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for September.
Before joining Arsenal in May 2016, Harriman-Annous turned out for Whetstone Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.
He signed a scholarship deal with the Gunners in the summer of 2024 and penned his first professional contract in August 2025.
