Former Bournemouth striker reveals what impressed him about Arokodare in Wolves' loss to Fulham

Former Bournemouth striker Efan Ekoku singled out Tolu Arokodare for praise despite Wolverhampton Wanderers suffering a historic loss in their Premier League clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening.

For the first time in Premier League history, a club has failed to win any of their opening ten games in two consecutive seasons.

Fulham opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Ryan Sessegnon slotted past Sam Johnstone after being played through by Wolves old boy Raul Jimenez.

As Arokodare waited to be introduced, Harry Wilson doubled the hosts' advantage with a fine curling effort into the far post in the 62nd minute.

The Nigeria international eventually came off the bench in the 64th minute, replacing Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, and made a positive impression with his hold-up play and physical presence in attack.

Ekoku praised Arokodare for his performance despite Wolves' defeat to Fulham, noting during the match broadcast the striker's ability to maintain possession.

He said on the Premier League world feed: "Arokodare, he's actually held the ball quite well.

"Some of the fizz has gone out of the game, Fulham not quite as intense in their pressing or their super-intensive style.

"In that regard, there's pressure from the centre-halves, but he's done well since he appeared."

Arokodare has yet to score a Premier League goal after seven appearances totalling 209 minutes, but the deadline-day signing from Racing Genk has already shown promise, having found the net in back-to-back Carabao Cup games.
