Galatasaray striker Osimhen under scrutiny in Turkiye after firing blanks against Trabzonspor
Published: November 02, 2025
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has come under scrutiny in Turkiye following his underwhelming display in Galatasaray’s goalless draw with Trabzonspor at Rams Park on Saturday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Osimhen, who played the full 90 minutes, was unable to inspire the Yellow-Reds to victory against the Claret-Blues, extending his barren run in crucial league fixtures.
Despite the stalemate, Galatasaray remain top of the Super Lig table with 29 points, while Trabzonspor trail closely in second with 24 points.
The Nigerian international endured a frustrating evening, missing a clear scoring opportunity and managing six attempts, only three of which were on target.
His struggles in key encounters have become a growing concern among Galatasaray fans, with many questioning his impact in the big games.
Osimhen has failed to showcase his best form consistently against the league’s top sides; Tranzonspor, Besiktas, and Fenerbahçe.
In the 2024/2025 campaign, Osimhen managed just one goal and one assist in six derby appearances, against Tranzonspor, Besiktas and Fenerbahçe.
However, in the current season, the Nigerian international has yet to register a goal or an assist in his two outings against Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
With a crucial showdown against Fenerbahçe looming in December, Osimhen will be eager to silence critics and rediscover his clinical form to strengthen Galatasaray’s title ambitions.
