Osimhen and Alhassan arrive in Rabat ahead of Super Eagles training, Okoye yet to show up

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen and New England Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf have joined the Super Eagles camp in Rabat, increasing the number of players in camp to 23 ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon.

Osimhen and Yusuf landed in Rabat before the start of the national team's workout on Tuesday.

The team is now awaiting only one more player, goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, to complete the squad.

The 23 players currently in camp are: Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, William Troost-Ekong, Benjamin Frederick, Chidozie Awaziem, Amas Obasogie, Stanley Nwabali, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Zaidu Sanusi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Alhassan Yusuf, and Victor Osimhen.

Training sessions are ongoing at the Institut Royal de Formation des Cadres, under the supervision of head coach Eric Chelle.

The focus in camp has been on tactical organization, ball movement, and transitions, as well as finishing and chance creation in the final third.

Osimhen’s arrival has added a strong focal point to the attack, complementing the pace and creativity of Lookman, Chukwueze, Simon, Ejuke, and Arokodare.

Nigeria will face Gabon on Thursday November 13 in Rabat. The winner will advance to the African playoff final for a chance to compete for Africa’s Intercontinental Playoff spot for the 2026 World Cup.
