WAFU B U20 Girls Cup Benin 0-1 Nigeria: Ramotalahi Kareem nets first half winner for Falconets
Published: November 12, 2025
Nigeria's U20 women's team, the Falconets, rounded off their impressive campaign at the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup with a 1–0 victory over hosts Benin on Wednesday at the Stade Omnisports d'Adjohoun.
Having already secured the championship title after back-to-back wins against Ghana and Benin in their earlier fixtures, the Falconets maintained their perfect record, finishing the tournament with four wins from four matches and without conceding a single goal in their last two games.
The encounter began with Nigeria asserting early control, showcasing their trademark precision passing and attacking intent.
Their dominance paid off in the 16th minute when in-form forward Ramotalahi Kareem struck again, calmly finishing from close range to hand Nigeria the lead.
The goal marked Kareem's fourth of the tournament, further cementing her place among the competition's standout performers.
Despite Benin’s spirited response, the Falconets' defense held firm.
The hosts pressed hard in the closing stages, but Nigeria's organization and composure ensured they saw out the game professionally.
The result capped off a remarkable tournament for the Falconets, who displayed class, consistency, and attacking flair throughout the tournament.
