'I play with my heart' - Super Eagles new star Adams reacts to win, provides general fitness update

Sevilla striker Akor Adams is quickly establishing himself as a bona fide star for the Super Eagles, following yet another goalscoring display for the three-time African champions.
Adams has now found the net in consecutive away fixtures for Nigeria, opening the scoring in Thursday evening's 4-1 demolition of Gabon's Panthers in the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff in Rabat.
In a move that raised eyebrows, Adams was handed a starting role alongside Victor Osimhen in attack.
Coach Eric Chelle's bold decision was vindicated in the 78th minute when Adams capitalised on a defensive error, rounded the Gabonese goalkeeper, and calmly slotted into an empty net.
Speaking in the mixed zone after the game, Adams was delighted with the performance of the Super Eagles and highlighted his commitment to the national team.
The 25-year-old confirmed that he and his teammates emerged from the clash against Gabon unscathed.
"We prepared for it and we got some opportunities in the first half. We were not as effective as we were in the second half, and you could see we scored four goals in the other part of the game,"Akor Adams said to Victor Modo.
"Thank God for the victory, thank God nobody is injured, so all eyes on Sunday.
"I play with my heart. And of course, thank God for the opportunity of coming to represent Nigeria. It will always be an honour; it's a privilege as well. My heart is in it, and whatever comes with it, I'm happy."
A member of the Flying Eagles squad to the 2019 Fifa U20 World Cup in Poland, Adams found the net eighteen minutes into his Super Eagles debut in a World Cup qualifier against Lesotho last month.
