Chidera Ejuke has expressed his satisfaction following the Super Eagles' 4-1 extra-time victory over Gabon, describing the performance as a strong collective effort that has boosted confidence ahead of Sunday's playoff final against DR Congo.

Ejuke played a key role in the semifinal win, coming off the bench to score his first ever goal for the national team.

Speaking after the game in Rabat, he said the result reflected the hard work the squad has been putting in during training sessions and throughout the qualification series.

"It was incredible, to be honest,"Ejuke said n an interview with the Super Eagles media team made available to allnigeriasoccer.com

"You know, we was working, we was working very hard, and I’m just excited that, you know, I could contribute that to the team."

The winger added that his focus going into the match was to make a positive impression and support the team in both attack and defence.

He emphasised that his approach was centred on adding value wherever needed on the pitch.

"I mean, to be honest, I just wanted to come and contribute what I can to the team positively, you know, bringing my skill, you know, going forward and also, you know, helping the team to defend as a group,” he said.

"We are just very positive and we’re excited going into this game,” he stated.

He also expressed hope that Nigeria will deliver a strong performance in the final.

According to him, the team’s unity and mindset will be crucial as they seek to finish the playoff series on a successful note.

"We’re hoping or praying instead, by the grace of God, that we would be able, like, to come out very outstanding and get the victory,” Ejuke said.

Nigeria and DR Congo will meet on Sunday in Rabat, with the winner advancing to the next stage of qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
