NNAMDI ODUAMADI Hits Lima May 20
Published: May 15, 2012
The 20-year old star will depart his Turin base and will stop over in Madrid, Spain to connect a flight to the South American country. Oduamadi will team up with the rest of the home-based players and Turkey-based Ekigho Ehiosun, who will fly in with the team and officials from Abuja. The home-based squad, who has been in camping in Abuja, will depart the country on Saturday, May 19.
The other three foreign-based players - Raheem Lawal, Gege Soriola and Obiora Nwankwo - are also expected to join up with the rest of the team on Monday.
The team started final trainings towards the game from yesterday.
Oduamadi, who will be expected to make his first bow for the senior team in Lima, says he can’t wait for the big chance. He was invited by sacked Coach Sam-son Siasia on two occasions but did not get to play.
The youngster was also rested in the last Serie B game against Pescara on Saturday be-cause of the Peru game.“I must confess this is the biggest chance in my life I have been waiting for and I can’t wait to give it my all.
I had to be rested against Pescara just to be in the perfect shape for the game in Peru. This is my chance to show the world what I can do,” he said.
He added, “I’m in a perfect shape ahead of the game and I hope to put up convincing performance in the game to impress the coaches for more games.” Oduamadi is on loan at Torino from Italian giant, AC Milan and could be returning to his original owner in the summer.
