Governor's Cup: A Solid Base For Future Soccer Stars - AJIMOBI

The executive Governor of Oyo State Senator Abiola Ajimobi has described the just concluded Oyo State Governors Cup Soccer Tourney as a good catalyst for youths in the state to become future soccer stars.
Governor who was thrilled seeing real secondary schools students displaying good soccer artistry at the final of the tourney played inside the main-bowl Lekan Salami Sports Complex on Children's Day expressed optimism about the future of the state in sports.
Muslim Grammar School Otu defeated Community Grammar School Eruwa by 2 un-replied goals to emerge the 2012 champion among about 50 secondary schools that started the football tourney.
The Governor however, pledged all-round development for every other sport in the state saying, “It is our aim to give all sports in the state equal leverage and as we can all see the good results our efforts is yielding just within one year we came into power”.
“Everything in this state has grounded before we came, Oyo in the far past was a leading light in Nigeria Sports circle but the case is not the same now, we are going to reposition the state back to its rightful position and correct every wrong done to the state”, Ajimobi noted in his speech at the event.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports in the state, Dapo Lam-Adesina who set off the reform in Oyo State sports sector told newsmen that 15 outstanding students have been selected from the soccer tourney and would be admitted into FRENAGE-Progression International Soccer Academy (FPISA) who is a major partner to the state on Governors Cup.
