SONE ALUKO Thrilled To Be In The National Team
Published: June 07, 2012
Sone Aluko is thrilled his good form for Rangers last season earned him a call-up to the Nigeria selection. The winger was an unused substitute in last weekend's 1-0 win over Namibia in Calabar.
''Being at Rangers has certainly helped me in my bid to win a place with my international team. The club has had a lot of big players in the past who have played for big countries and it's a club which has played regularly on the European stage.
"Those sorts of things always help your chances and with a lot of our games being televised, I'd hope people out there have been taking note of my form,'' says Aluko to the official website of Scotland's most successful club.
Aluko made his international debut against the Republic of Ireland three years ago. Since then, he has not added to his solitary cap, but has featured for the Nigeria Under 21s.
