Rwanda Coach Sweats On Fitness Of Skipper OLIVIER KAREKEZI
Published: June 16, 2012
Rwanda coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojovic is sweating on the fitness of skipper Olivier Karekezi for the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles in Calabar.
The APR forward picked up a knock on Thursday in their training session at the University of Calabar. Medics are working on his physical condition to make him fit for the match by hook or by crook.
Coach Sredojovic is optimistic that the Wasps can upset the Eagles in Calabar by getting a score draw at the end of hostilities.
He was quoted as saying by newtimes.co.rw: ''They (Nigeria) will be under more pressure than us, and I think this will be a big motivation for us to go out there and play for a win without any pressure.
''When a team has almost won a game and loses in the last seconds due to a mistake such as they did against Malawi, it can be devastating, at least psychologically, and hopefully it remains that way against us.''
The first leg encounter played in Rwanda ended in a goalless draw. The winner of Saturday's tie progresses to the third qualifying round.
Probable Line Up: Jean Claude Ndoli, Godfroid Steven, Jean Claude Iranzi, Eric Gasana, Salomon Nirisarike, Fabrice Twagizimana, Tumaine Ntamuhanga,Meddie Kagere, Haruna Niyonzima, Olivier Karekezi and Dady Birori.
