SEYI ADELEKE Takes Time Off In Croatia
Published: June 18, 2012
Former Flying Eagles invitee, Seyifunmi Adeleke (Solari) has ended up in Croatia for his off-season holiday, despite initial talk of returning to Lagos to settle some family issues.
On the contrary, the left-footed full-back-cum-winger, who shot to limelight in the first official match of late Yemi Tella as Golden Eaglets coach (against Rwanda at Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode), said he needed to cool off for a while, rather than face the hustle and bustle of Lagos this summer.
To this end, Adeleke hopes to recuperate fully in the Eastern European country and be in the best frame physically and psychologically when he rejoins his mates at Pergocrema of Italy.
‘Solari’ (also fondly called Baby Ayana during his youth days at Ejigbo, Lagos) was one of the star performers for the Crema-based Italian third division club, which has failed over the past two seasons to grab the services of former Super Eagles striker, Stephen Ayodele Makinwa (Tiger of Lagos).
“I am hoping to get adequate rest and regain my physical and mental stability before pre-season training commences at my club,” Adeleke explained to allnigeriasoccer.com.
