Fenerbahce, Everton Continue To Haggle For JOSEPH YOBO
Published: June 22, 2012
There are uncertainties surrounding the future of Nigeria Skipper Joseph Yobo. The defender spent the last two seasons at Turkey's vice-champions Fenerbahce.
Negotiations between Fenerbahce and Everton for the outright purchase of the 31-year-old are ongoing. The British club have plans of including Yobo in their squad for pre-season training which starts next month if an agreement is not reached soon.
The Sun reports that Fenerbahce are ready to offer 1.5 million euros for Yobo. However both parties are likely to reach a compromise if a bid of 2.5 million euros is tabled.
The management of the Yellow Canaries are willing to offer Joseph Yobo a two-year contract, with annual wages of 1.5 million euros, if an agreement for his transfer is reached with Everton.
Other alternatives being considered by Fenerbahce for the defense include Pedro Geromel (Cologne), Lucio (Inter Milan) and Lyon's Ghanaian centre-back John Mensah.
