Official: AUSTIN EJIDE Signs Two-Year Deal With Hapoel Be'er Sheva
Published: June 23, 2012
Back up goalkeeper in the Nigeria set up, Austin Ejide landed in Israel on Thursday, and has officially signed a contract with Toto League side Hapoel Be'er Sheva after undergoing physical tests.
Ejide, 28, had been offered a two-year contract, with an option for an additional season, with The Camels, but national team duties with the Nigeria selection prevented him from formalizing the contract.
Hours after Nigeria defeated Namibia by 1-0, the ex Gabros International custodian called officials of relegated Hapoel Petah Tikva, his former club, telling them of his decision of not continuing with them for the 2012 - 2013 season.
Ejide had been on the radar of Maccabi Petah Tikva, and teams in Europe before putting pen to paper on the 2-year contract with Hapoel Be'er Sheva.
