West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke is determined to keep hold of Peter Odemwingie. The Nigeria international striker has been linked with offers from Russia and France.
“His goal record here is really good,” Clarke told the Sunday Mercury. “He’s the man you look to for the goals.
“Normally as an opposition coach I would be looking and seeing that Peter Odemwingie has scored again.
“At this stage it’s hard to say how good he is until I actually have time to work with him.
“But I will come in and work with Peter and over a period of time I will be able to grade him and see where he fits in.
“There’s no doubt he’s a top player, a Nigerian international, who has scored goals in the Premier League consistently."
