FEMI AJILORE Declared Surplus To Requirement By Groningen
Published: June 25, 2012
Femi Ajilore has no future at Dutch club FC Groningen, and has been declared surplus to requirement according to statements credited to the Technical Director of the Pride of the North, Henk Veldmate by Voetbal Interntional.
Ajilore spent last season on loan at Brondby. At the end of the season, the Danish club did not exercise the option of buying him outright from Groningen.
The 27-year-old central midfielder has a contract with FC Groningen until the end of the 2012 - 2013 season.
If Ajilore remains, he would be entitled to at least 500,000 euros in wages, which is not economical for the club, as he is not in the plans of Coach Robert Maaskant.
