Rosenborg Did Not Offer CHIKELUBA OFOEDU A Contract
Published: June 30, 2012
Enugu Rangers striker Chikeluba Ofoedu has not been offered a contract by Norwegian giants Rosenborg after two weeks of trials, Norwegian-Nigerian agent Atta Aneke has informed allnigeriasoccer.com.
On Thursday, the 20-year-old forward had physical tests with RBK. Earlier reports coming out of the Scandinavian country had suggested that he would be offered at least a three-year contract.
But after clear the air talks between the hierarchy at Rosenborg, Ofoedu and his agent, the sad news was broken to the Flying Eagles invitee.
''Ofoedu actually did all right, he has been told they can't sign him now due to the number of foreigners in their squad. But that they would like him to come back in a month or two.
''However being that he has so many suitors especially in Turkey, I don't think he (Ofoedu,ed) would be willing to come back again for a second trial period with RBK," Atta Aneke told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.
Apart from the interest shown by clubs in Turkey, Ofoedu, who has the playing style with Rubin Kazan forward Obafemi Martins, is also wanted by clubs in the Middle East and South Africa.
