JOHN UTAKA Tipped To Replace OLIVER GIROUD In Attack
Published: July 01, 2012
Montpellier are looking for offensive reinforcements following the
departure of their top scorer last season Olivier Giroud to the English Premiership.
Super Eagles offensive player John Utaka has been tipped by authoritative French sports daily L'Equipe to replace Olivier Giroud in MHSC's attack in the coming season.
Utaka, 30, prefers a role in the forward line. The same position he played without blemish while playing for Lens and Rennes in his earlier sojourn in France.
Montpellier winning the title last season has seen suitors scrambling for the signature of the architects of that triumph. Utaka is reportedly on the radar of Turkish side Trabzonspor, but he wants to remain in France and play in the Champions League next season.
