Agent: NOSA IGIEBOR Is Not Boycotting Training
Published: July 02, 2012
21-year-old Olympic National Team star and ex Lillestrom, Norway player Nosa Igiebor is in the news again.
Reports in Isreal say the Hapoel Tel Aviv midfielder, whose injury time winner in May handed the Reds the State Cup, will boycott training over unpaid bonuses when he returns to the Israeli capital for pre-season training later this week.
Former footballer Atta Aneke, who is now an agent and manages Nosa Igiebor, has clarified to allnigeriasoccer.com the situation of his client.
''It is incorrect that Nosa Igiebor is boycotting training. He is due to be back in Israel tomorrow night (Tuesday, ed). That was the agreement he had with the club, and his ticket was booked in advance on this return date.
''Igiebor does not have an issue in staying at Hapoel at all. His good form at the later part of last season was due to him settling well in the team, and enjoying life in Tel Aviv, '' Atta Aneke, who has brought many Nigerian talents to the Norwegian League, told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.
With Hapoel's financial troubles, it remains unclear if Igiebor would remain at the three-time defending State Cup champions. He is not lacking interest from clubs in Israel and overseas. There is speculation that Igiebor could return to his comfort zone, Scandinavia. Rosenborg and Brondby are reportedly interested in his signature. Again, Atta Aneke has dismissed those suggestions.
''There is no interest from Rosenborg and Brondby. Rosenborg were interested before he signed for Hapoel. But now they are aware that his asking price is beyond their limit, so they have not made any concrete move for him,'' Aneke said.
He went further: ''There are a few teams interested in Israel, Russia and Holland. Hopefully, something concrete will happen soon.''
Previously, allnigeriasoccer.com had reported that Maccabi Haifa and PSV Eindhoven were monitoring the situation of Nosa Igiebor, who is under contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv until the end of the 2014 - 2015 season.
