Sunshine Stars Deny Approach For GODFREY OBOABONA
Published: July 10, 2012
Sunshine Stars Head Coach Gbenga Ogunbote has denied media reports that South African club Bloemfontein Celtic are scouting the Nigeria international Godfrey Oboabona.
Clinton Larsen, coach of Celtic, watched Sunshine Stars in their 0-2 defeat to Esperance on Sunday fueling speculations that he was in Nigeria to run the rule over the duo of Oboabona and winger Ajani Ibrahim.
Ogunbote told supersport.com: ''I'm just hearing this. No club has asked us for his service.''
Meanwhile, Oboabona, who skippers Sunshine Stars, has told allnigeriasoccer.com that despite the team's 0-2 loss to the CAF Champions League defending champions, he is hopeful the Akure based side will make amends in the next group game against ES Sahel on July 21.
