OBIORA NWANKWO Delighted To Be At Padova
Published: July 18, 2012New Padova signing and Nigeria international Obiora Nwankwo has been interviewed by the official website of the Serie B club. The 21-year-old, who has been handed the number 40 jersey (OBIORA), is pleased with his arrival in Padua.
Obiora Nwankwo was quoted as saying by padovasport.tv: ''I am delighted to be here. I will do my best to achieve the goal, which to me is promotion to Serie A.
''Meeting (Fulvio,ed) Pea, I am very pleased,he coached me in the youth team of Inter Milan. He can be very stern when needed. We are really a good group. Gubbio? An important experience, I think I scored two goals and I did well. Too bad for the demotion. ''
The former ECO United ace has picked his Champions League debut for Inter Milan against Tottenham in London as the highlight of his young career.
Nwankwo was in the Super Eagles squad for the matches in June against Namibia, Malawi and Rwanda, and hopes to be shortlisted by Stephen Keshi when he names his squad for the Afcon qualifying fixture against Liberia.
''In September I will be busy with the national team. We have the qualifiers for the World Cup and Africa Cup. With the Nigeria Under-20 I played in the past with Osuji,'' said Obiora Nwankwo.
