KALU UCHE Off To Kasimpasa
Published: July 19, 2012Kalu Uche impressed in his second spell with Barcelona based outfit Espanyol, and finished the season as the club's top goalscorer with 6 goals in 15 matches despite arriving in the winter market.
In the summer transfer market, clubs in Europe and North America were scrambling for the signature of the former Enyimba star. UANL Tigres, Galatasaray and Bursaspor were some of the suitors of the 30-year-old Nigeria international.
None of those teams mentioned were able to snatch Uche from Espanyol. Instead, newly promoted Turkish Super Lig outfit Kasimpasa have pulled one of the transfer coups of the summer transfer market by luring the Super Eagle to Istanbul.
What remains for Uche to be officially unveiled by Kasimpasa is a traditional medical examination. But he is in good shape as he has been training with the Espanyol squad before he was summoned to Turkey to negotiate a contract.
According to reports in Turkey, Kasimpasa will pay Espanyol a transfer fee of 1.5 million euros for the signature of Kalu Uche. Half of the transfer fee, 750,000 euros, will go to Uche's pocket as bonus!
