JOSEPH YOBO's Soap Opera Nearing Climax
Published: July 20, 2012
The transfer saga involving Nigeria's most capped player Joseph Yobo, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Turkey's vice champions Fenerbahce is nearing conclusion.
Everton, Yobo's parent club, have soft-pedaled by reducing their valuation of the Super Eagle to 2.5 million euros.
The 31-year-old defender has been excluded from Everton's pre-season training. With the positive development, it is only a matter of time before he links up with his teammates at the Yellow Canaries.
British newspaper, Liverpool Echo says funds from the sale of Joseph Yobo will be used to finance the acquisition of South Africa international and Spurs midfielder Steven Pienaar.
Leicester City were also in the running for Joseph Yobo, but the former Marseille player did not favor a move to England's lower division.
