HARMONY IKANDE Testing With Vitoria Guimaraes
Published: July 26, 2012
Vitória Guimarães have a Nigerian player undergoing trials presently, the former Nigeria youth - teamer Harmony Ikande, whose last club was Beitar Jerusalem.
The official website of the Portuguese club disclosed that Ikande started tests with the Conquerors last Thursday. Ikande must convince coach Rui Vitória of his potentials before he is offered a contract.
It would be recalled that Ikande was released by Beitar Jerusalem last April following disciplinary problems. Before then, the Nigerian was rotting away in the Reserve Team of the Israeli club.
Reports in Portugal suggest the 21-year-old midfielder would be sent to the B Team if he is successful at trials. Harmony Ikande played for 45 minutes in Vitória Guimarães's 1-1 draw with Feirense on Tuesday.
Ikande is a globetrotter in football terms after spells in Italy, Spain, Hungary and Israel in a space of two years.
