Published: July 26, 2012
Daniel Amokachi, Super Eagles Assistant Coach, had proposed Sone Aluko to the Besiktas hierarchy . But Aluko preferred to remain in the United Kingdom, and completed his move to Hull City on Wednesday.
The new name being bandied about to replace Aluko is the in-form Super Eagles forward Ikechukwu Uche. This is Daniel Amokachi's last trump-card to the Besiktas chiefs.
Technical Director of Besiktas, Samet Ayababa has reportedly met with Ikechukwu Uche's agent to negotiate a transfer, and deal is in the offing if the Turkish side can meet the player's valuation of €3.5 million.
Kalu Uche, the elder brother of Ikechukwu, signed a three - year contract with Kasımpaa last week.
