Official: ABDULWAHEED AFOLABI Signs Four - Year Contract With Kuban
Published: August 04, 2012
Abdulwaheed Afolabi has signed a four - year contract with Russian Premier League outfit Kuban Krasnodar, the club has stated on its official website.
Recall that the 20-year-old attacker left Tavriya, Ukraine under a cloud, saying he had the right to terminate his contract at any moment. He was linked heavily with a move to Metallurg Donetsk, instead, he has ended up at the Yellow - Greens.
Speaking on the capture of the former Niger Tornadoes ace, coach Dan Petrescu was quoted as saying by the official website, fckuban.ru. : ''I am glad that the club has signed this player. It is obvious that this young player is a real football talent. It will be great if it will be revealed to us, but for this he had to work long and hard.''
If things go according to plan, Afolabi would make his league debut next weekend against Krasnodar in the fourth round of matches in the Russian championship.
