MACAULEY CHRISANTUS Scores on UD Las Palmas Debut
Published: August 04, 2012
Spain's second - tier side UD Las Palmas have officially unveiled free agent Macauley Chrisantus, who arrives from Hamburg.
Chrisantus, top goalscorer at the 2007 Fifa Under 17 World Cup in South Korea, failed to live up to his wonder-kid tag at Hamburg, and did not play an official game for the Bundesliga outfit.
Now, the Nigeria youth international is justifying Las Palmas' faith in him. It took Macauley Chrisantus only eight minutes before registering his first goal for Las Palmas, scoring after 53 minutes in the 3-0 victory over Club Deportivo Marino on Wednesday.
The ambitions of Chrisantus for his new club is to score as many goals as possible, but he refused to set a specific target for himself.
Macauley Chrisantus, who has been handed the number nine jersey, rejected offers from Russia, Germany, Austria and Romania, disclosing that he preferred a switch to Spain.
