DANIEL CHIMA Relieved To Break Goal Drought

DANIEL CHIMA Relieved To Break Goal DroughtMolde's Daniel Chima is relieved to score his first goal for the Norwegian champions since April.

Introduced by coach Ole Gunna Solskjær immediately after the first half interval, Chima's 62nd minute strike proved to be the match winner against Sogndal (2-1) at the Aker Stadium last weekend.

'' This goal is a morale booster for me, coming as a substitute and scoring the winning goal for my team. The three points were also important for the club. My strike is a sign of better things to come as the season progresses,'' says Daniel Chima to allnigeriasoccer.com.

In Wednesday's UEFA Champions League second leg third qualifying round against Basel, Chima and his teammates have a huge mountain to climb after losing their home tie 0-1 to Swiss club FC Basel.

Chima does not want to blame his Ivorian pal Davy Angan, who was dismissed by match referee Fredy Fautrel in the 27th minute, for MFK's loss. He is optimistic of his team's qualification to the next stage of the competition.

'' I think we still have a chance of making the group stage of the Champions League. Basel is a very good team with so many experienced players. But looking at the way we played against them with 10 men last week, if we play them with 11 men, I think we will leave St Jakob Park very happy.

''I can't say it is because of Angan's red card that we lost the game. This is football, even with ten men you can still win. So, I'll say we lost the game because we were destined to do so,'' says Chima.

Daniel Chima has a contract with Molde until December 2013. Many teams have made enquiries about his services, but Ole Gunnar Solskjær does not want to part with the striker yet.
