VINCENT ENYEAMA Undergoes Maccabi Tel Aviv Medical
Published: August 06, 2012
Subject to the result of a traditional medical examination conducted on Monday afternoon, Super Eagles number one goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is very close to a switch to Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, writes one.co.il
Enyeama, 29, has failed to make his official debut for Lille in Ligue 1 since his transfer from Hapoel Tel Aviv last summer. The situation won't improve in the 2012 - 2013 campaign as the former Enyimba custodian is down the ladder in coach Rudi Garcia's pecking order of goalkeepers.
The Nigeria international landed in Israel on Sunday night to put pen to paper on a loan deal with The Yellows. However, he refused to confirm to reporters his mission in Tel Aviv.
''I came here on holiday. I do not know why you ask me about Maccabi. It is not closed. Anything can happen, do not know what will happen now,'' Enyeama was quoted as saying by one.co.il.
This is Enyeama's second spell in Israel. While on the payroll of Hapoel Tel Aviv, in 113 appearances in the championship, he scored 8 goals.
