Published: August 10, 2012
Spartak Moscow face Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce in the play - off round of the Champions League, the governing body of European football UEFA announced on Friday.
There were concerns that Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike won't be available for the away game on August 28, as he is still being investigated for match fixing in Turkey and could be arrested by the authorities on arrival at Istanbul.
But General Director of Spartak Moscow, Valeri Karpin has rubbished the reports in an interview with the Russian Press.
''Emenike never had any problem. Our Nigerian striker could play in Turkey, and now, when the case is closed, even more so,'' says Karpin to championat.com.
All the suspicions of match fixing against Emmanuel Emenike in the Turkish championship have been dropped, the Russian portal added.
