VINCENT ENYEAMA Will Help Us A Lot This Season - Teammate
Published: August 21, 2012
Israel international and Maccabi Tel Aviv defensive midfielder Gal Alberman says the signing of Nigeria international Vincent Enyeama by The Yellows will provide stability in their defense.
Vincent Enyeama made his debut in last weekend's 3 - 0 win over Maccabi Netanya in the Toto League Cup.
Alberman was quoted as saying by one.co.il: '' Enyeama gave us a lot of peace. The connection to him in recent days. I think he had a great game and he was quiet and I'm sure he will help us a lot this season."
The former Hapoel Tel Aviv hero was heavily criticized by supporters for his switch to the bitter rivals of The Reds. There are statements by former teammates of Enyeama which revealed that he had previously pledged his lifelong loyalty to the State Cup defending champions.
But Alberman has supported Enyeama, who is on a season - long loan from Ligue 1 club Lille, on his move to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
''I think he's a pro and he has put it aside. Players before and after him will move between clubs. It's part of soccer today, and happening around the world. He has peace of mind and is very calm and I'm sure it helps. I hope we'll see Enyeama of Hapoel,'' he said.
