Published: September 02, 2012
Pandurii Târgu Jiu midfielder John Ibeh continued his remarkable goalscoring form for the Romania table-toppers, netting his fourth goal of this campaign against Rapid Bucharest on Saturday evening.
Ibeh, who played in the UEFA Champions League last season with Oå£elul Galaå£i, was on target in the 57th minute. Before then, his precise pass to teammate Claudiu Voiculet gave the home team the lead as early as the 3rd minute.
Speaking in a telephone conversation with allnigeriasoccer.com on Sunday, the 26 - year - old midfielder said: '' I am happy to get on the score-sheet again. Our form this season can be traced to hard-work and the belief we have in ourselves. It is too early to talk about us winning the Romanian championship. Only 7 games have been played, hopefully we can continue like this until the end of the season in May.''
Log leaders Pandurii Târgu Jiu have 19 points from 7 games, 6 points ahead of second on the table Steaua Bucuresti who have a game in hand. The Pandurs travel to face Tony Nwakaeme's Petrolul Ploieşti on September 15.
