Cologne Snatched ANTHONY UJAH From AGF
Published: September 02, 2012
According to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Cologne snatched the Olympic National Team forward Anthony Ujah from under the noses of Superliga club AGF.
In principle, AGF had been given the green-light by FSV Mainz 05's manager Christian Heidel to borrow the 21 - year -old ex Warri Wolf for the reminder of the season.
The priority for Cologne was Rob Friend of Eintracht Frankfurt, but they could not meet his 800, 000 euros valuation. With less than three hours before the close of the summer transfer market, the club from North Rhine-Westphalia shifted focus to Mainz forward Anthony Ujah.
Anthony Ujah preferred remaining in Germany, so it did not take him long to decide to join Cologne on a temporary basis when the offer came.
Danish clubs - FC Copenhagen and Brondby - had courted Anthony Ujah before he signed the dotted lines with Mainz.
