Rubin Kazan Drop OBAFEMI MARTINS
Published: September 04, 2012
Rubin Kazan have named 22 players for matches of the group stage of the Europa League. Omitted from the squad is out of favour Nigeria international Obafemi Martins.
Martins, 27, has reportedly been exiled from Rubin Kazan's first team after an altercation in training with a teammate.
Since the start of the Russian championship, coach Kurban Berdyev has not considered the former FC Ebedei talent for selection, preferring Davydov and Rondon in attack instead.
It is now certain that Martins will remain with Rubin Kazan until January after his move to Spanish club Levante collapsed before the close of the summer market.
The contract of the Nigeria international forward with the club from the capital of Tatarstan expires in June 2013.
