IORFA, OKPOTU Win Bloggers Award For August
Published: September 06, 2012
Lobi Stars' pair of Dominic Iorfa and Tony Okpotu have been named Manager and Player respectively for the month of August by the Bloggers.
Iorfa becomes the second coach/manager to win the award organised by Naija Premier League Bloggers Award twice since the start of this season.
Okey Emordi of Enugu Rangers won the manager's gong twice in February and April.
The panel of Naija Premier League Bloggers Award opted for Iorfa following his team's brilliant showing in the games against two top sides, Dolphins and Enugu Rangers in August.
Iorfa just edged his Kano Pillars' counterpart, Baba Ganaru, whose team beat Jigawa Golden Stars and Akwa United en route to their second league title.
In the category of Player for August, Okpotu had to contend with Abdulrahman Bashir of ABS and Oliver Nsidibe of Kaduna United.
Okpotu was the arrow-head in his side's run in August in just two games in which he netted thrice while Nsidibe's three goals were converted from the spot and Bashir played an extra game than others.
Iorfa and Okpotu will be honoured later by Naija Premier League Bloggers Award.
The Bloggers for August is the last monthly award of this season.
