Published: September 06, 2012
Former Nigeria international Prince Ikpe Ekong, these days playing in Sweden's third division for Väsby United, has revealed that he worked in harmony with the agent of Gbenga Arokoyo to bring the highly rated youngster to Mjällby.
Ekong is delighted with the progress made by Gbenga Arokoyo in the Allsvenskan, and is tipping the central defender to take the league by storm.
'' Gbenga Arokoyo can succeed in the Swedish championship; very well. By God's grace, he has been doing tremendously well. All through the first round he was not considered for selection.
''But he has now played five games since the start of the second round and was the most outstanding player in the Mjällby squad for three or four games,'' Ekong, skipper of Vasby United, told allnigeriasoccer.com.
33 - year -old Ikpe Ekong signed a one - year contract with Vasby United in April, 2012. He chose to sign the dotted lines with Vasby because the club hierarchy gave him an option to be the chief scout of the Stockholm based club.
