Deportivo La Coruna Will Challenge Levante For OBAFEMI MARTINS

Nigeria international Obafemi Martins has agreed to terminate his contract with Rubin Kazan. What is left for a formal announcement to be made is a bureaucratic problem. The destination of the Super Eagle is pointing towards Spain.

Tribalfootball.com says Deportivo de La Coruña will challenge Levante for the signature of the former FC Ebedei wonder - kid. Deportivo La Coruna are shopping in the free agency market for a new striker.

Former Aston Villa and West Ham United centre-forward John Carew is under consideration, as is ex-Newcastle United forward Obafemi Martins.

However, Levante are in pole position to land the signature of Martins. There is advanced contact between Martins and the La Liga side, desperate to bolster their attacking options following the departure of Arouna Kone to Wigan in the summer transfer market.

According to reports in Spain, Levante are willing to offer Martins at least a two - year contract with annual wages of 600, 000 euros.
