All things being equal, Super Eagles left back Elderson Echiejile may have Nigerian company at his Portuguese club S.C Braga. Allnigeriasoccer.com can report that Irish Nigerian striker Chinedu Vine is trying to earn a contract at the end of his stint with Portsmouth FC of England.
Young Vine, a left footed pacy striker joined Pompey in 2010 from Irish club Home Farm and made a blistering start to his career in England, impressing the Pompey selectors. However at the beginning of the crisis in Portsmouth the team decided to start cutting costs by releasing youth players who were not from the Portsmouth area and so at the end of his contract in April this year he was released.
He was rumoured to have moved to SC Fairense of Portugal but the deal fell through and now he is trying out with SC Braga to try to earn a place in the top Portuguese team. Prodiguosly talented 18 year old Chinedu Vine Jnr has stated his intention to play for Nigeria, but is intent on getting his once promising career back on track before aiming to attract the attention of national team selectors.
