AZEEZ LAWAL May Depart FC Naftan Novopolotsk
Published: September 13, 2012
Nigerian starlet Azeez Lawal Tete could depart Belarus club FC Naftan Novopolotsk in the winter transfer market if he is not promoted to the first team.
Despite the brilliant performance of the 19 - year - old for the Reserves, coach Igor Kovalevich has ignored the calls of the supporters who are clamoring for the former Golden Eaglets invitee to play in the top division.
''In January I signed a two - year contract with FC Naftan, but I have not started playing for the first team. I have been playing very well in the second team, scoring two goals in 15 matches with many assists.
''The supporters of the club are pleading with the coach to introduce me in the first team squad. For now, maybe if I don't get to play for the main squad I may have to leave the club in January to a club where I am guaranteed match time,'' says Azeez Lawal to allnigeriasoccer.com
Azeez Lawal, a midfielder, was part of Alphonsus Dike's Golden Eaglets squad in 2008. He failed to make the roster for the tournament hosted by Nigeria a year later.
