Published: September 20, 2012
Only this past weekend, the 22 - year - old former Nigeria youth - teamer bagged his first goal of the season. This afternoon, Akeem's wife gave birth to a set of female twins.
''I am so delighted to inform you that my wife gave birth to two beautiful girls on Thursday afternoon. Both babies and mother are doing fine. Twins are a blessing from above, I am doubly happy with the arrival of my two little girls,'' Latifu told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.
Adds the Canada 2007 Fifa Under 20 World Cup star: ''What a week I'v had. I scored my first goal of the season last weekend. I am grateful to God for everything.''
IL Hødd, a club based in the village town of Ulsteinvik, play SK Brann in the Norwegian Cup semis next Thursday. It could be a perfect occasion for Latifu to announce the arrival of his twin girls to an audience of at least 1 million Norwegians if he manages to score and does a 'lullaby celebration'.
